Defensive specialists and highly coveted recruit Troy Warner announced his commitment to BYU Wednesday afternoon via Twitter. It marks the first four-start commit to BYU for the 2016 season.

Persuading top recruits to commit to BYU in any major sport is a challenge with the school leaving the Mountain West Conference for independence. Mitch Harper pointed out the magnitude of a four-star commit.

Warner played cornerback at Mission Hills High School in California, and is ranked 23 at the position by Rivals.com. Warner joins his brother Fred at BYU, who is in his sophomore year at playing linebacker.
