The future is here.
In 1985, Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox in “Back to the Future II) travels to Oct. 21, 2015 to save his future children.
As the world celebrates and compares the reality of Oct. 21, 2015 to the movie-imaged 2015 today, wondering where our hover boards and flying cars are, Utah Valley residents can reflect on one more “Back to the Future” connection — Christopher Lloyd.
Lloyd, who plays Doc in the “Back to the Future” trilogy, joined the cast of BYUtv’s “Granite Flats” in 2013 as Professor Stanfield Hargraves — something Doc himself didn’t see in his future.
Playing an eccentric junior high English teacher, Lloyd’s character captivates the kids’ attention in Granite Flats, Colorado with his quick-witted lessons. However, he becomes a mysterious character as the kids continue to get to know him better and with the Cold War drama spreading through the town. Lloyd joined the cast for seasons 2 and 3.
“Granite Flats,” which announced its Season 3 was its final season in June, was added to Netflix in May 2015, including the not-yet released Season 3. You can also watch Season 3 of “Granite Flats” at byutv.org.
Welcome back to the future.
