Two Utah County stars got to hang out with the best in country music Wednesday night at the 2015 Country Music Awards. BYU’s Cosmo the Cougar and Lindsey Stirling both participated in separate performances.
Cosmo was part of an entourage of mascots who danced in the background while Brad Paisley sang his hit song, “Country Nation.” He never gets a closeup shot, but Cosmo is in the upper righthand section at 2:24 in the video above.
Cosmo had performed with Paisley once before when Paisley had a concert in Salt Lake. Going against all unwritten rivalry rules, Cosmo hugged the University of Utah’s mascot Swoop at the concert.
In her first CMA performance, Lindsey Stirling joined country artist Dierks Bentley to perform his song “Riser.”
“I think I’m going to switch to country music because everybody is so nice in the country music scene,” Stirling joked in a Periscope video.
