UVU receives scholarship donation from local construction organization

The Beavers Charitable Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to investing in the education of students entering the heavy construction industry, awarded $200,000 to UVU’s construction management program. Building on the rapid growth to Utah Valley University’s construction management program, The Beavers Charitable Trust donated $200,000 to the program’s scholarship fund on Monday.

The Beavers Charitable Trust is a nonprofit organization established for investing in the education of students entering the heavy construction industry. Wilford Clyde, CEO of Clyde Companies and past president of The Beavers, recommended the Clyde Institute of Construction Management at UVU in Orem as a qualified recipient.

UVU’s growing program — which grew more than 18 percent in the last year alone — is a strong player in ensuring quality professionals are ready to meet the growing demands of the construction industry.

The $200,000 check was presented to UVU President Matthew Holland by Dave Woods, executive director of The Beavers.
