Summer is halfway over in Utah Valley, but things are just heating up. Make the most of your July weekends by marking these Utah Valley events in your calendar.

American Fork Steel Days

American Fork Steel Days will blow you away this year with it’s 10-day celebration. Not only is the city celebration longer this year, but the Big Show and other amazing events are free because of generous sponsors (and word on the street is that the firework show is also one of the best in the valley). Payson Scottish Festival and Highland Games

Grab your kilt (because we all know you have one) and head out to Payson for Scottish traditions for the whole family. This two-day event has bagpipe competitions, a Scottish sprint 5K, a parade and much more. Read more here.

“Seussical: The Musical”

This family favorite is debuting at the Shell Outdoor Theatre. All the best characters from your favorite Dr. Seuss stories will be performing on stage. This whimsical musical includes amazing music from Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Travel along with JoJo to the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible Who world. The SCERA’s production is directed and choreographed by Shawn M. Mortensen. Music direction is by DeLayne Bluth Dayton.

“Tarzan”

Enjoy the last few weeks of the Hale Theater’s performance of “Tarzan.” Come and watch a performance that is suitable for the whole family and relive your favorite Disney memories.

Happy Valley Derby Darlins Star Spangled Beat Down

The Happy Valley Derby Darlins are back and are ready for a Star Spangled Beat Down. Cheer on your favorite darlin and come for a day full of action. The junior league, The Prodigies, will also be rolling in. If roller derby isn’t enough, Pompeii Pizza will also be there to fill you up.

Orem Owlz

What’s more American than baseball? The Orem Owlz will be taking on Idaho Falls this weekend and need your support. Get the whole family out to the ballpark and enjoy a weekend eating hot dogs and cheering on your Owlz!

Sounds Like Summer Concert Series

The Orchard at University Place is the place to go for good music, fun and a little competition. Each night in the series there will be a band competing for the most fans at their performance. This week alternative rock band A Dead Desire will be competing and performing.

Rooftop Concert Series

The Rooftop Concert Series is at it again. With its third concert this year, join all the music lovers on Center Street in Provo for a whole night full of good food and good tunes. Headlining the July concert is Sego, who will be accompanied by Grey Glass and Pinguin Mofex. Although Sego is a local band, they have moved to L.A. since, so come and check them out before they head back west.
