When it begins to look a lot like Christmas, it also begins to sound like the holidays. And seasonal music lovers will enjoy a new approach to traditional favorites.
FiddleSticks, a family band based in Orem, is releasing its third CD, titled “Christmas Cold Fusion,” on Nov. 10 at a CD release party at 647 North, 1280 East, Orem.
Three sisters and their father make up the band, which got its start in 1991 when the family lived in the Washington, D.C., area.
“My wife was an Irish harpist, but she died three years ago,” says Mark Davis. “We’ve tried to carry on her music.”
FiddleSticks has about 50 gigs a year, with the majority being in Utah Valley.
Other performances include:
Nov. 1 – Opening for Small Potatoes
Nov. 20 UVSC McKay Events Center
Dec.7 – Varsity Theater, BYU
Dec.26 – Sixth Annual Boxing Day Concert.
