



The Provo-Orem area is the fourth fastest-growing economy among U.S. metropolitan areas, with a 144.1 percent increase in “gross metropolitan product,” or the value of goods and services produced there, from 1990 to 2000.
The Salt Lake-Ogden area is the 19th fastest-growing U.S. metro area.
The new study, presented at the U.S. Conference of Mayors, shows Provo-Orem’s GMP at $3.4 billion per year in 1990 and $8.3 billion per year in 2000, making it fourth among the nation’s 319 metro areas.
