If you scan the headlines of any newspaper in the past decade, you’ll see health stories such as, “Baby boomers living longer …” “Childhood obesity skyrocketing…” “Cancer researchers make breakthrough…”

Preventative health and medical concerns are on the minds of Utah Valley seniors as well as those in all stages of life.

The Utah Health and Fitness Expo will feature more than 100 booths on health, fitness and nutrition. Utah businesses who will be showcased include the latest in sports equipment, cosmetics, vitamins, sportswear, and health-care management services.

Some booths will offer tests and assessments. For example, the Absolute Health Nutrition Center and Chiropractic will offer cholesterol, liver, thyroid and enzyme blood testing.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 12-13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the McKay Events Center at UVSC. Admission and parking are free.

In addition to the booths, visitors will see gymnastics and dance performances, fitness and yoga demonstrations, presentations by local authors and health experts, and educational activities.
