Ramona Wilson, president and founder of ImageWorks Academy of Hair Design, is a strong advocate for young mothers. Being a single mother of four children herself, Ramona understands the challenges faced by many young mothers today. Ramona is proud to offer free on-site child care to the ImageWorks students who have children. ImageWorks is the first cosmetology school in Utah to have such a program and because of it, Ramona has received the Woman of Brilliance Award, which celebrates single moms who make a difference. Ramona hopes other companies will follow her example in helping single mothers and all mothers get an education.

Ramona has been in the cosmetology industry for 25 years. Her passion is assisting others who love this industry as much as she does. She opened ImageWorks Academy of Hair Design eight years ago, dedicating her life to training students to be the cosmetology leaders of tomorrow.

ImageWorks goes far beyond traditional cosmetology schools. Within Ramona’s cosmetology program students receive advanced training in nails, media makeup, eyelash extensions, eyelash perming, three types of hair extensions, permanent cosmetics, as well as an advanced cutting and coloring curriculum.

Ramona provides her students with a week-long self-empowerment training, and also offers weekly sessions with a life coach to any student who would like assistance. ImageWorks students are able to work with a personal trainer who assists them with being healthy and feeling great. Ramona has assembled experts in every field to train her students to give them a competitive edge in the cosmetology world. She wants her students to feel confident in their skills and proud of who they are inside and out.

Life Tip: Ramona believes in the quote by Maya Angelou that says, “You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.”
