PROVO — A jewelry courier was robbed at knife point Tuesday afternoon at the Provo Towne Center Mall.

At 2:20 pm, the courier was leaving the mall when three people in a minivan approached him and demanded the jewelry. One suspect pulled out a knife during the encounter but did not physically harm the courier. Once they had the jewelry, the suspect with the knife slashed the tires of a nearby vehicle, incorrectly believing it was the courier’s car.

The suspects left the scene in what is believed to be a 2004-2007 Grey Honda Odyssey. All three suspects were wearing black hoodies with red cloths over their faces.

“We’re working closely with the FBI on this case, and we’re trying to identify the individuals that were in the car,” said Lt. Mathew Siufanua.

Siufanua said the Provo Police Department has some leads, but those can’t be released yet.

Those with information on this robbery should talk to Detective Robert Payne at the Provo Police Department. He can be reached at 801-852-7280.
