As temperatures continue to dip and the inevitability of winter becomes apparent, groups of Canadian geese can be seen cackling and honking their way to less frosty nesting grounds.

Canadian geese are just one bird species that depends heavily on the existence of wetlands for survival. Utah, like many other states, is attempting to find a balance between urbanization and preservation of natural wetland areas.
