It’s the weekend at last. Don’t get caught stuck on the couch when there are so many activities happening around Utah Valley. Here are five events sure to liven up your weekend:
1. “The Cat in the Hat”
Get ready for some mischief with the SCERA Center’s adaptation of “The Cat in the Hat.” Prepare for the Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 to come with a colorful performance. The last showing is Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $6 for adults and $4 for children, students and seniors.
2. “Heartsongs: Melodies of Love”
BYU’s de Jong Concert Hall will be filled with the musical sounds of love and the journey of life with the BYU Young Ambassadors’ show “Heartsongs: Melodies of Love.” The show features award-winning Broadway songs such as from “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” “Cinderella,” “Singin’ In the Rain,” as well as popular love songs by The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Bublé, Adele and Michael Jackson. Get your dose of loveable melodies Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. or with the Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $8-$12.
3. “Night at the Museum”
Exhibits will “come to life” in Hutchings Museum’s “Night at the Museum” event. After preparing for two months, the displays showcasing different time periods are ready as are the actors who will be dressed as historical characters. The museum awakens from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Tickets cost $4.
4. Redefining Beauty
With International Women’s Day this weekend, Beauty Redefined Foundation co-creators Lindsay and Lexie Kite are giving a keynote address at UVU Friday to celebrate. The Kites work to raise awareness on and fight the body image battle. Learn more about the free event here. The keynote address will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
