The BYU women’s basketball team was ranked No. 18 for the 2013-14 season in the USA Today Sports Division I Top 25 Coaches’ Poll.

The Cougars first started receiving votes for the Coaches’ Poll in January when they had a 13–2 record. Before entering the NCAA tournament the Cougars had moved up in the poll and were ranked a mere five spots out of the Top 25 in the Coaches’ Poll.

During the NCAA tournament, the Cougars entered as a No. 12 seed, upsetting No. 5-seed North Carolina State and No. 4-seed Nebraska to advance to the Sweet 16. This was their second time reaching the Sweet 16 in the school’s history.

Overall, BYU ended its season with a 28–7 record.

Connecticut, this year’s national champion, tops the rankings in the No. 1 spot. BYU lost to UConn in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament.
