



Although the strongest wind gusts recorded on Tuesday, April 22, were in counties north of Utah County, the greater Provo-Orem area also received strong gusts that brought down tree limbs, swayed cars and shredded canopies and business signs.
Wind gusts in Salt Lake, Toole, Davis, Weber and Box Elder counties knocked out power for thousands of Rocky Mountain Power customers, caused street lights to malfunction and even toppled two semitrailer trucks.
Wind gusts in Utah County mostly varied between 50 and 70 mph. The strongest wind gusts in Utah County, 73 mph, were reported at 6 p.m. in Lehi.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for high temperatures in the low 50s in Utah County with much lighter winds and a 10 percent chance of rain.
