“Seize the day” with BYU’s Vocal Point’s newest music video, “Newsies Medley — Shot A Cappella Tribute in 4K!”

Mashing up four different energetic songs from the 1992 Disney musical and current Broadway hit, “Newsies,” Vocal Point pulled off a four-minute video without any cuts that features the nine-member group and 85 backup dancers.

The video spotlights different dancers from the BYU Dance Department’s different dance groups including the International Folk Dance Ensemble, Contemporary Dance Theatre and Ballroom Dance Company.

The music video includes four different songs: “Seize the Day,” “King of New York,” “Santa Fe” and “Carrying the Banner.”

Check out their behind-the-scenes video to see how they seamlessly filmed this music video in one shot. (SPOILER ALERT: It involves dancers crawling around on the floor to stay out of the camera’s view.)
