BYU men’s basketball releases 2014-15 nonconference schedule



PROVO — As avid BYU fans await the beginning of football season, they have another date to pencil into their calendars and add to the wait list — the beginning of basketball season.

BYU men’s basketball coach Dave Rose announced the nonconference game schedule for the 2014-15 season Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars will play eight home games (including the Cougar Tipoff) before beginning play for the West Coast Conference, which is scheduled to start on Dec. 27.

After playing three home games, the Cougar men’s basketball team will play in the Maui Invitational from Nov. 24-26. The 2014 field includes Arizona, Kansas State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Purdue, San Diego State and host Chaminade. Out of the teams included in the 2014 Maui Invitational, five of the teams played in the NCAA tournament last season including Arizona, BYU, Kansas State, Pittsburgh and San Diego State. The matchups will be determined and announced at a later date.
