I’m not usually one to follow the recruitment of BYU athletes. It’s hard to get excited about players who may not see the field for at least three years — and that’s only if they see playing time as true freshmen post mission.
After Britain Covey was officially offered by the Cougars last week, his YouTube highlight video began making the rounds on message boards, and I’ve watched it no less than five times. I don’t know how his game will translate to the next level because of his size, but that doesn’t mean I can’t daydream about the day — probably not until 2020 — when he is zipping past would-be tacklers and scoring every time he touches the ball.
