Utah County residents will want to keep their eyes to the northeast and northern skies tonight as a very unusual display of aurora borealis could be on display.
According to AccuWeather.com, an Earth-directed solar flare could ignite the northern lights from Washington state, across the mountain west and into Minnesota.
AccuWeather astronomer Hunter Outten says the flare is ranked as an X-class, which is the highest class for a solar flare. Outten says a flare of this size could also adversely effect radio frequencies and cell phone reception.
Awesome, I hope it will be able to be seen here. It on my bucket list to see.
