“Frozen” fans just can’t let it go, which is probably why Disney announced Thursday afternoon they will officially be making a “Frozen 2.”
“We enjoyed making ‘Frozen Fever’ so much and being back in that world with those characters,” said John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, USA Today reported. “Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
Kristen Bell, the actress who voices Princess Anna, tweeted the announcement with an icy photo.
Since “Frozen” melted all of our hearts in 2013, the movie grossed $1.27 billion worldwide and won two Oscars, including best animated film and best song for “Let It Go.”
“Frozen,” which is based off of Hans Christian Andersen’s “Snow Queen,” follows Arendelle’s princesses, Anna and Elsa.
Disney is releasing a “Frozen” short being shown before “Cinderella,” which is in theaters Friday.
