Voldemort is back…again. But never fear, Harry Potter fans, because He-who-must-not-be-named has returned in the funkiest way ever.
“Dark Lord Funk,” a parody of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” takes a small tour of Utah Valley and features vocals from Elijah Thomas, an Orem resident.
The Dark Lord used a variety of locations around Utah Valley to record the music video including The Wall at BYU (the band scene), South Fork Park, Provo Canyon and the American Fork Amphitheater (the battle).
Producers Keith Allen, Marcus Joseph and Andrew Carver created and pieced the video together with the help of a few Utah County businesses. The vocals for the parody were recorded at Audiowest, a recording studio in Orem. Also, the BYU Adlab helped put the video together.
As a red-headed representative of the Weasley family, Utah Valley YouTube star Stuart Edge makes an appearance as Ron Weasley.
He-who-must-not-be-named has never been so personable, and if you “don’t believe (us), just watch” the video.
