This is one of 10 lists on direct sales featured in the Spring 2015 issue of Utah Valley BusinessQ.
Can we be direct? Network marketing is here to stay.
It’s a popular topic around these parts, where downlines are the uptalk. In fact, Utah County has the highest concentration of direct sales companies in the nation, which gives our county a big piece of the $32 billion pie this industry creates in the United States.
Here are five reasons women tend to be drawn to the direct sales business.
1. Natural networkers
Women are natural networkers. They are eager to tell others about what they’re involved in.
2. Fits flexibly
The flexible schedule is perfect for moms. They can build a business from home in small pockets of time throughout the day.
3. No I in team
Team work makes the dream work. Women are excellent at building their team by nurturing newbies and fostering friendships.
4. Priority changer
When a life change puts business on the back burner, network marketing’s residual income provides a safety net.
5. Socialize, socialize, socialize
“We are inherently social creatures who love and need to connect. As long as women chat, love shopping and crave girl time, direct sales will flourish. We’re always looking for the next great thing!” says Kristine Widtfeldt, a longtime direct sales executive.
