From the Point of the Mountain all the way down to Santaquin, Utah Valley has a lot to offer — especially in weekend activities. There are no excuses for staying in all weekend when there are these quality events happening around Utah Valley. Here are five of our picks for the upcoming weekend:

1. World Folkfest

Take a seat and a trip around the world at the same time with Springville’s World Folkfest. Featuring music and dancing from countries as far as Nepal and as close as the Rocky Mountains, this annual event gives you a bite of culture.

When: July 27 – Aug. 1 from 6 p.m.–8 p.m.
Where: Spring Acres Arts Park in Springville
Cost: $5 for children; $10 for adults

2. “Into the Woods”

Fairy tale characters cross paths in the woods as they seek out their dreams. Will Cinderella, the baker and his wife, and Little Red Riding Hood find their happy endings? Find out in the woods at the Hale Center Theater Orem.

When: July 2 – Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m. (Saturday matinees at 3 p.m.)

3. Highland Fling Days

With a theme of “Love for Home,” Highland has put together a list of love-to-do activities for this weekend. From a youth night in the park to a BMX stunt show, Highland has unique activities for everyone.

When: July 25 – Aug. 1

4. “The Wizard of Oz”

“Because, because, because, because, because” it is a classic tale with memorable lines, “The Wizard of Oz” will verify that you “aren’t in Kansas anymore.” Follow Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion down the yellow brick road in the Sundance outdoor amphitheater’s production. 5. #ProvoFest Summer Block Party

Zeek’s Pieshake Parlour is hosting a “massive dance party” with Ricky Miami. The dance party will feature live music by local musicians Mimi Knowles, Ashley Hess, Na-G and RAP GAME.

When: July 31 at 8 p.m.
Where: Center Street in Provo between University Ave. and 100 West
