Hundreds of hungry attendees lined up on Center Street in Provo on Saturday to sample fares from 20 restaurants vying for votes in the “Taste of the Valley” competition.
After hundreds of votes were tallied, Aubergine & Company was named “Best Taste of the Valley.” Utah Valley Magazine reviewed this healthy Orem location last year, and you can read it here.
The winner for “Best Presentation” went to Oteo in Orem. Read the review of this healthy Mexican cuisine here.
For “Best New Discovery,” tasters selected El Tropical Restaurant in downtown Provo.
Another downtown Provo restaurant took “Best Dessert” — Gloria’s Little Italy. Gloria’s was previously named by Utah Valley as one of the top eight local restaurants for groups, which you can read here.
A handful of food trucks participated in Taste of the Valley, with “Best Food Truck” being awarded to Genki Asian Street Food.
The “People’s Choice Award” went to Spry Cafe, which recently opened in Salem with healthy smoothies and entrees.
Proceeds of the event went to local charities, including Operation Underground Railroad, the Food and Care Coalition and CenterPoint Students.
