Talk about a career-changer.
Three single mothers in Utah are being given the second chance of a lifetime with scholarships to three career-focused “bootcamps” — worth over $9,000.
The Live Your Dream Foundation, which has been helping single mothers elevate their careers since 2010, has partnered with DevMountain, Market Campus and Startup Ignition to offer three deserving women these bootcamps, which provide unskilled students a skills-based, hyperfast education in a matter of weeks.
“These scholarships will assist single mothers in developing skills to find a career that greatly benefits their families,” says Dave Young, cofounder of the Live Your Dream Scholarship. “The bootcamp phenomenon is sweeping the nation, and Provo has a concentration of top operators. Their programs result in a mastery of skills that lead to employment or entrepreneurial success.”
DevMountain is a 12-week bootcamp focused on coding and technology (DevMountain also just ranked No. 2 on BusinessQ’s UV50 Startups to Watch).
Market Campus is a 9-week bootcamp focused on digital marketing.
And Startup Ignition is a 13-week bootcamp for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The Live Your Dream Foundation is set to screen single mothers in Utah interested in gaining skills in coding, digital marketing or entrepreneurship. The selection process includes applicants demonstrating financial need, sharing aspirations for higher education, and an interview process with board members. After awarding three women the scholarships (one from each bootcamp company), Live Your Dream plans to document their educational journey and career successes.
