Orem native Jenn Blosil makes American Idol’s top 14

Orem native Jenn Blosil has made it into the top 14 of “American Idol: The Farewell Season.”

The judges — Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez — chose the final seven contestants to be in the top 14 of “American Idol: The Farewell Season.”

Former Idol contestant Constantine Maroulis, who competed in season 4 of the show, joined the 23 year old for a duet singing “My Funny Valentine” by Frank Sinatra in Thursday night’s show.

“I freaking loved it,” Urban said about the performance.

For her solo on Wednesday night, Blosil sang “Sorry” by Justin Bieber. While Harry Connick Jr. said the beginning of the song was out of tune, the judges commended Blosil for her originality.

The other Utah County resident, James the Vlll from Provo, was eliminated last week after his top 24 performance.

Blosil will compete in the live voting performances of “American Idol” beginning next week on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 8/7 CDT on FOX. Look for Blosil in the March/April issue of Utah Valley Magazine.
