Utah YouTube stars have released Easter-themed videos over the past week. With Easter Sunday coming up on Sunday, March 27, here are three Utah-made music videos to inspire you for the Easter holiday.
Alex Boye, BYU Men’s Chorus and BYU Philharmonic Orchestra
Alex Boye, known for his Africanized cover songs, joins the BYU Men’s Chorus and BYU Philharmonic Orchestra for “Baba Yetu,” the Swahili version of “The Lord’s Prayer.”
The 3-year-old tugged the virtual world my the heartstrings with her YouTube video “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid.” The video totaled more than 8 million views. In her second YouTube video, Claire sings “Gethsemane,” which her dad writes is one of her favorite Easter songs.
McKynlee and Maddie Wilson
These Utah Valley teenage sisters combined their talents to sing (Maddie) and sign (McKynlee) a mashup of “Come Thou Fount and How Great Thou Art.”
“With Easter coming up, I really wanted to do a religious song and show my gratitude for Jesus Christ,” Maddie Wilson wrote on the YouTube video. “McKynlee (sister) is NOT deaf, but we have some close family friends that are, and they’ve been teaching her.”
Jenny Oaks Baker, Dallyn Bayles and Lyceum Philharmonic
Violinist Jenny Oaks Baker and singer Dallyn Bayles join the Lyceum Philharmonic for “Savior, Redeemer of My Soul.”
“It is music that moves and inspires us, and we hope it will do the same for you,” Baker wrote on YouTube. “It is an Easter message intended to remind us all of the saving power of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the reality of His Resurrection. He Lives!”
