THE VOID, Lindon

AGE: 39

TITLE: Chief visionary officer

James Jensen is virtually the coolest. After studying commercial art and design at UVU and earning the highest certification available at the Digital Media Institute in Softimage and 3D Animation, Jensen has worked extensively in visual effects, game development, and web development and has collaborated with companies like Novell, Overstock, HP, Sony Pictures, Microsoft, Dream Works, MTV and Syfy. As for his unique hyper-reality venture — THE VOID — Time.com put it this way: “These guys created a real-life holodeck.” Way to boldly go.

The YELLOW Talking “I’m an optimistic realist. I love the dream and I want it to make sense in the real world.”

Biggest Accomplishment “Fulfilling a 16-year dream of mapping a virtual world over a physical world and exploring it. In short: THE VOID.”

First Job “I worked at the SCERA movie theater in Orem when I was 14, slinging popcorn and tearing tickets.”

Key To Success “If you do what you love, people will eventually pay you for it.”

Youthful Advice “When I was 12, my dad told me, ‘Your reputation will be worth much more than any money you will ever make.’ Keeping my reputation has allowed me to continue working with extremely talented people who have joined me on all my adventures.”
