TITLE: Administrator at Utah Valley Hospital
Kevin Brooks is totally sick, as the kids say these days. He is an administrator, a philanthropist, and a powerful voice in Utah’s healthcare industry. What’s more, Brooks runs a hospital where patient satisfaction scores are in the 80th percentile nationally and where they just received the Gallup Great Workplace award for the fifth year in a row.
The RED Talking “I make decisions and move forward. I’m fair and friendly -— but firm in our commitment to our vision and values.”
Favorite Accomplishment “Six years ago, I started the American Fork Canyon Half Marathon to raise funds for cancer patients in our community. A close colleague at work was just diagnosed with breast cancer and I wanted to do something to show her my support. In addition to providing funds for primary treatment, the money raised can be used to pay for babysitters, hotels, wigs, scarves, gas -— little things that are meaningful. Over the past six years, this event has raised more than $1 million that has gone directly to patients in our community. It went through a name change last year to become the AF Canyon Run Against Cancer, and I invite everyone to participate — go to www.afcanyonrun.com.”
Youthful Advice “Always choose people over money.”
