Christmas is coming early this year for BYU Vocal Point fans.

The nine-man a cappella group has joined forces with a cappella YouTube sensation Peter Hollens and Utah Valley soul singer Ryan Innes to record a Christmas concert in October. The concert will be broadcast on BYUtv during the holiday season.

A year ago, BYU Vocal Point released its first Christmas album, “He Is Born,” which had 11 songs and one original song.

Before celebrating an early Christmas, BYU Vocal Point and Hollens will join the “Empress of Soul” Gladys Knight, Utah singer Lexi Mae Walker and multiple other performing arts groups at BYU for the Homecoming event, BYU Spectacular!, on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Once BYU Spectacular! is over, the a cappella singers will transition to sleigh bells and snow for the BYUtv recording on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The Christmas concert recording is at The Barn at Thanksgiving Point, 3003 N Thanksgiving Way in Lehi, Utah.

Children eight years and older are invited to attend the three-hour concert, which doesn’t have an intermission. By attending the concert, attendees consent to being filmed. The last day to reserve tickets is Friday, Oct. 14.
