BYU basketball’s Zac Seljaas will return to the team for the 2017-18 season, announced BYU coach Dave Rose on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-7 guard returned home early from his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints earlier this month to receive treatment for a sore shoulder. Seljaas served in Iowa. He is currently rehabbing his right shoulder. He will re-enroll at BYU in June and begin working out with the team to prepare for his sophomore season with the Cougars.

During his freshman season, Seljaas averaged 7.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He set the BYU record for the highest 3-point shooting percentage — 50 percent — during his freshman season, according to the BYU Athletics site. Nationally he ranked 224th in 3-point field goals, and among freshman he ranked 38th.
