Spring has officially sprung. As the first buds of the season are coloring the county, don’t let the April showers keep you inside. Utah Valley always has something going on — whether its a musical performance, sporting events or a random affair – and you shouldn’t miss it. Here are five weekend best bets for entertainment.

Provo City’s Spring Festival

It’s getting artsy at the annual Provo Spring Festival. There will be art installments, art demos and booths at the event. But art isn’t the only activity. There will also be food trucks, live music, puppies, goats and a ropes course.

Where: Lakeview Park in Provo

Puppetry Arts Guild of Utah

Make new friends — namely puppets — at the Puppetry Arts Guild of Utah. Watch shows, learn how to make a puppet and expand your knowledge for puppeteering.

“Chariots of Fire”

BYU has yet another U.S. premiere. “Chariots of Fire” follows the same story as the 1981 Oscar-winning film about two British athletes who train to compete in the 1924 Paris Olympics. Despite being outsiders, devout Christian Eric Liddell and immigrant Lithuanian Jew Harold Abrahams race against the odds to fulfill their dreams. You could even be part of the audience if you buy on-stage tickets where you enjoy the show and double as the spectators at the Olympic games. Read more about the U.S. premiere at BYU here.

When: March 31 – April 15 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday matinees at 2 p.m.
Where: Pardoe Theatre, BYU

“My Fair Lady”

“The rain in Spain” couldn’t stop you from enjoying this classic musical. Mindy Smoot Robbins plays Eliza Doolittle and Marvin Payne plays Professor Henry Higgins in the well-known story about a common woman transformed into a lady.

When: April 14 – May 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: SCERA
