Aaliyah Rose’s journey on “The Voice” came to an end on Monday night. The 14-year-old Provo native was eliminated in the live playoffs.
Country singer Lauren Duski and 15-year-old Aliyah Molden were voted to represent Team Blake in the Top 12. Then team coach Blake Shelton chose TSoul as the one singer he could save.
Rose was originally on Gwen Stefani’s team, but lost in the Knockout Round to 15-year-old Brennley Brown. Then Shelton stole Rose, which brought her to the Top 20 live playoffs.
“Aaliyah came out here and you just don’t sound like anybody else in the world,” Shelton said after Rose’s Knockout round performance. “You have the slowest vibrato I have ever heard in my life. I feel like I could lob softballs in between her vibratos.”
Shelton told all of his eliminated team members that they were doing what they needed to be doing with their lives as singers.
For the live performance, Rose sang “Brass in Pocket” by the Pretenders. Following the elimination, Rose posted her gratitude in a message on Instagram.
