Bennett Hullinger — 2017 high schooler who will change the world

Bennett Hullinger laced up his cleats for the football state championship, donned his sneakers to cut down the nets at the basketball state championship and puts on his racing shoes each year for the Live wElle Foundation 5K, a nonprofit created in memory of his youngest sister who tragically died when Bennett was 8. The foundation provides assistance to those in need and offers scholarships for students in the Springville area.

Mini-resume 3.9 GPA, two-sport athlete, Utah basketball state champion, All-State Honorable Mention basketball, 1st team all-region football, HOPE squad member, National Honor Society.

Plans after high school LDS mission and then college.

Advice for freshmen Participate in all you can, work hard and have fun!

Challenge you’ve overcome Breaking my hand in the middle of basketball season and working hard to come back at full strength.

Lesson learned From the example my parents set for me following my sister’s death, I have realized so much good can come from a not-so-good situation.

Stress management Take action in whatever is stressing you. For example, if you’re stressed about a big paper that’s due, start it!

How will you change the world? By paying it forward. A lot of good people have been there for me. I hope I can inspire and help others to achieve their goals and live a fulfilled life.
