Keys to happiness in high school Make new friends, smile at everyone, be positive and don’t be afraid to try something new!

Challenge you’ve overcome I am half deaf, I have Type 1 diabetes and I have a poor immune system that has resulted in over a dozen hospital visits.  However, I keep smiling. With the support of friends, family and neighbors, I continue to get better at maintaining my health.

Best high school memory This past Christmas, the Chamber Choir sang in Primary Children’s Hospital. I loved seeing the faces of those who were having a hard time, but got a chance to be lifted, even if just a little, by the music we performed.

No. 1 thing you’ve learned in high school Good friends are priceless, and everyone has the potential to become a good (or even great) friend if you’ll give them a chance.

How will you change the world? Whether it’s through physical service, working, getting to know people or just giving a friendly smile, I’m trying to make it a better, happier place to live.
