From Vietnam to Utah, Huy Nguyen learned and embraced a different language and culture. His peers at Meridian School sense his desire to make the world a better place.

Mini-resume Utah 4-H State Ambassador, blue ribbon recipient in piano contest, blue ribbon in public impromptu speaking at 4-H State contest, varsity soccer, first place in the region at National History Day Competition,  president of the Vietnamese students group for the school’s international club.

Plans after high school Attend college in Utah.

Personal motto Bad things happen. Get over it and keep going!

Keys to happiness in high school Open yourself to others. Don’t be shy to make more friends. Be involved and come with a positive attitude.

Guilty pleasure I love meat and rice. I play video games and watch a lot of movies.

Most common thing your parents say to you “As long as you’re happy, we’re happy.”

Best high school memory Every home basketball game, my friend Jonathan and I are even louder than the cheerleaders.

Best advice you have received When you make a mistake, own it!

How would others describe you? Funny, Asian and loud.

Stress management I just get it done as soon as possible.

How will you change the world? By bringing a positive attitude everywhere I go, a smile every time I see someone and treat others around me the way I want to be treated.
