Jason Harline — 2017 high schooler who will change the world

As student council spirit chair, Jason Harline led the student section to winning the UHSAA’s statewide Battle of the Fans. “I may not win state tennis, but I can cheer the loudest,” he says.

Mini-resume 4.0 GPA, 35 ACT, 7 AP classes, seminary council, NHS, math club, Spanish club, sandwich club, Mathematics Sterling Scholar Finalist, captain of tennis team, Mr. Viking.

Plans after high school I leave in July for the Mexico Monterrey East Mission and then I’m going to BYU to study business.

Advice for freshmen Don’t let the opinion of others affect you.

Guilty pleasure Chicken nuggets are their own food group in my diet.

Challenges My dad had to live in Mississippi during part of my elementary years, so I learned to be more independent.

Most common thing your parents say to you “Who ate all the brownies?”

No. 1 thing you’ve learned in high school Most people try to cover problems they are going through, so always be kind to everyone.

How would others describe you? Spontaneous. It’s all about making memories.

Biggest pressure There is always someone watching, and there is a strong pressure to not disappoint or mess up.

Stress management Disco night at Classic Skating allows me to channel my inner Dancing Queen.

How will you change the world? I like to believe my outgoing, goofy personality brightens the day of those around me.
