Mother’s Day is just two days away and, unfortunately, you are the world’s best procrastinator. Luckily, there are a variety of local presents available that are only a click away or a quick swing by the store.

Here are seven Utah Valley gift ideas that will keep on giving even after Mother’s Day is over.

1. Tickets to the theater

What mom really needs in life isn’t more stuff, but a night out. Take her to the theater or give her a date night with dad. There are multiple theaters in Utah Valley with incredible talent: Covey Center for the Arts, Hale Center Theater Orem and the SCERA. If you want to make sure mom has a lot of fun this summer, then get her the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre Season Pass. For $95–$135, season ticket holders get 10 shows including three musicals and seven concerts.

2. Take a class

UVU offers a variety of classes, such as art, dance, cooking, home improvement, professional development and more. See all the classes offered through the UVU continuing education program here.

3. Quick Quack Car Wash month pass

It’s getting dusty in Utah Valley, which means the car is sporting a new layer of dirt. Quick Quack Car Wash has been storming Utah rather quickly. There are already five locations open (Highland, Spanish Fork, Orem, Springville and Layton) with three other locations under construction (Pleasant Grove, Provo and Saratoga Springs). The basic level monthly unlimited car is $17.99 per month. Plus, there are free vacuums when you wash your car.

4. Mommy and me date night

Bombay House’s cooks are willing to make off-menu items for customers, co-owner D. Shanthakumar says. This includes new dishes or dishes to accommodate health or dietary restrictions. Bombay House is our No. 1 votegetter for Eastern Asian food.

Give mom the gift of time while also trying out one of Utah Valley’s many unique restaurants. Create a date-night certificate with one of these Best of Utah Valley Restaurant winners as your mutual destination.

5. Donate to a cause she supports

For a mom that doesn’t want things but is socially active, donating to a cause she supports will be more meaningful than the typical present wrapped in a bow. Check out this list of Utah nonprofit organizations to find one mom will be happy about.

6. Listen to the Mission

Many Utah Valley mothers say goodbye to their daughter or son for a year and a half to two years. Then she only gets to hear from her missionary on Mother’s Day and Christmas. With Listen to the Mission, missionaries can send a 5-minute voice recording home on P-days (thinking cassette tapes) and hear their missionary’s voice every week. This service is currently only available for missionaries serving in the United States and Canada. Subscriptions are $9.95 per month.

7. Subscription to Utah Valley Magazine
