Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth will return to BYU in the fall to headline the 2017 BYU Homecoming Spectacular!, BYU announced over the weekend.
Chenoweth finished off BYU’s 2016–17 Bravo! season with two sold-out performances on Friday and Saturday night.
Chenoweth has a coveted spot on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, and has been recognized for her talent at the Emmys, the Tony Awards and People’s Choice Awards. She is best known for her role as the original Glinda the Good Witch in “Wicked” on Broadway.
The “Pushing Daisies” star will be joined by GENTRI: The Gentlemen Trio for two shows during BYU’s homecoming event. The Utah trio of tenors — which includes Brad Robins, Casey Elliott and Bradley Quinn Lever — started in 2014.
BYU’s Spectacular! will feature its own talent alongside Chenoweth and GENTRI with performances including BYU Vocal Point, Young Ambassadors and Contemporary Dance Theatre.
The homecoming event will be held Saturday, October 7 at the Marriott Center, and tickets will go on sale July 17.
