The Piano Guys are giving fans a taste of the “city of stars,” but it isn’t through their music this time — it’s through the video.

In their newest music video, The Piano Guys recreate a popular scene from “La La Land,” the movie musical that won five Oscars in 2017. This time around pianist Jon Schmidt takes on Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” in a solo act.

“‘Perfect’ is one of our absolute favorite Ed Sheeran songs, and we think it’ll become one of yours too,” The Piano Guys wrote on YouTube. “As Jon says, ‘The 6/8 meter lent itself very well to a solo piano version and the inspiration was abundant.'”

While the scene was filmed during the day, they covered the windows in black, explained Parker Walbeck in a behind-the-scene video on how the video was recorded. The music video took about four hours to record.

Recently, The Piano Guys started The Living Room, which gives subscribers early access to videos and special behind-the-scenes content.
