Jenny Oaks Baker and the Family Four’s newest music video is alive with the sound of music.
While traveling in Austria this past summer, Baker created multiple music videos, including the “Sound of Music” medley released Thursday morning on YouTube. She’s already shared her “Ode to Joy” video.
The Bakers filmed the music video in Salzburg, Austria, which is where the outdoor scenes for the “Sound of Music” film featuring actress Julie Andrews was originally filmed. The medley has six songs from the musical including: “The Hills Are Alive,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” “Lonely Goatherd,” “Do-Re-Mi” and “Climb Every Mountain.”
“I will never forget the feeling of standing on top of the Austrian Alps, playing ‘Climb Every Mountain’ together with my children while dressed in Dirndls and Lederhosen, overlooking all of Austria,” Baker wrote on YouTube.

Unfortunately, this bright experience also had a dark side to it. While the family was touring Pisa, Italy, their rental van was broken into. They lost their luggage, a cello, an accordion and a drone. Luckily, Director Danny Drysdale had the costumes and other instruments at another location.
“We had to scurry to find another cello and bow for Sarah, rent an accordion for Hannah and find another drone,” Baker wrote on her YouTube channel. “Thankfully, we were blessed to obtain everything we needed in time to shoot the video. We will never forget the whole incredible, miraculous experience. I know that God is real, He cares about each of us, and He will help us get through all the trials we encounter.”
Baker is a Grammy-nominated violinist from Salt Lake City. She has four children: Laura, Hannah, Sarah and Matthew. When they perform together, they are Jenny Oaks Baker and Family Four. The father, Matt, joined the family as Captain von Trapp to sing “Edelweiss” in this video.
