As a breast cancer survivor who then lost her husband to another form of the disease, InBALANCE Yoga studio owner Jennifer Schnabel is passionate about raising awareness of the terrifying illness that changed her life.
“Yoga helps relieve suffering,” Schnabel told the Daily Herald. “I believe it liberated my soul, and I want other to experience that.”
To help raise cancer awareness, InBALANCE Yoga will be hosting a free yoga day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m on Saturday, Oct. 28. Classes will include acro yoga, ananda yoga and a Halloween-themed vinyasa class. InBALANCE will also offer a yoga wheel class for those who sign up online before the event. There will also be an open house for the new Wellness extension of the studio that includes acupuncture, chiropractic and massage services as well as a hydration and vitamin infusion bar.
Those in attendance are encouraged to dress in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with a prize awaiting for the best dressed. Donations are also welcomed and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Lolly’s Locks, a charity that creates wigs from real hair for cancer patients who can’t afford their own. A prize will also be given to the person with the largest donation. Raffle prizes will include a six month InBALANCE Yoga membership and three Aubergine gift cards.
The event will take place on Saturday at the InBALANCE Yoga studio located at 436 West 800 North, Orem from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
