In October, Spanish Fork celebrated the opening of its new shopping center Canyon Creek. Canyon Creek — a 220-acre mixed-use development project located along Highway 6 at exit 257 off of I-15 — is a 245,000-square-foot expansion project by Woodbury Corporation, WPI Enterprises and other partners. Eventually, the development with include a new Intermountain HealthCare hospital.

The development opened its doors at Ace Hardware, Famous Footwear, Olive Garden, Petco, Maurices, TJ Maxx, Ulta and more. And Jeff Woodbury, Woodbury Corporation senior vice president of development, says Canyon Creek will see much of the same type of growth in 2018 as it did in 2017 — meaning retail and restaurant growth.

Canyon Creek already has a few restaurants contracted, including Rumbi Island Grill, but Jeff Woodbury say the company’s main focus is to get more sit-down restaurants like Olive Garden.

“We’ve been pretty careful about preserving places where we can do a lot of those types of things,” said Jeff Woodbury. “We have a deal right now where we’re doing a hotel there.”

Intermountain HealthCare is in the designing stage for the new hospital that will be built in Spanish Fork as part of Canyon Creek.
