BYU just wanted to “rolly, rolly, rolley with a dab of (BYU basketball)” in the Marriott Center Saturday night.
Reigniting the viral fire lit by Cosmo the Cougar and the BYU Cougarettes’ BYU football performance, the BYU entertainers recreated their performance — but this time the original artists of the song joined them.
“Back at it again for a halftime performance tonight,” Cosmo wrote on Facebook. “HUGE shout out to Ayo & Teo for coming out to perform with me and as always to the BYU Cougarettes.”
Ayleo and Mateo Bowles, a brother hip-hop duo more commonly known as Ayo and Teo, held a meet-and-greet at BYU’s basketball game Saturday before performing during halftime.
“We seen the video of the Cougarettes and the mascot, and it went everywhere,” Ayo and Teo told ESPN960 in an interview. “It was all over Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and it got shared on multiple pages, so they invited us out here to do it over.”
When Cosmo’s original “Rolex” video went viral, there were a series of copy cat mascots attempting to replicate the video’s success. Then Cosmo went on to challenge the Oregon Duck to a live dance battle on the 2017 ESPN College Football Awards. Cosmo even created a tutorial video for people to learn the “Rolex” dance.
