Two Utah artists — David Archuleta and Madilyn Paige — teamed up for a song about relationships.
“Seasons” is one of the songs on Archuleta’s newest album, “Postcards In The Sky.” The album is Archuleta’s first since returning from a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2014.
Archuleta, who was runner-up on season seven of “American Idol,” co-wrote the song with Stephanie Mabey and Dustin Christensen, who are both Utah artists.
Archuleta told Variety that the music video was filmed with him in the shadows and Paige in the light to show the two perspectives of a relationship.
“It was one of the first songs written for this project, and I felt like the woman in the relationship is the hopeful one while the guy is really negative,” Archuleta told Variety. “It seems like a lot of times it’s harder for guys to stay committed to something whereas women usually are the ones who keep pulling through to the end.”
Paige, a Provo resident who built her YouTube career after her appearance on season six of “The Voice,” opened for Archuleta’s Salt Lake City concert in November 2017.
