The Journey After the death of her mother and the end of her third marriage, Jazmine had an epiphany to start taking chances and follow her heart. This single mother of five left her secure job and started Utah Girls Love You (U.G.L.Y.), a foundation designed to help single moms in the valley. After gathering donations, Jazmine opened the foundation’s first storefront, UGLY’s Closet in Pleasant Grove.

Mile Markers “Helping single moms build their confidence, increase their skill levels and education while providing better lives for their children has been the most rewarding part of my journey.”

Road Blocks “There is a tremendous need in our community to aid single mothers. More than 30 percent of single mothers in Utah live below poverty. It’s hard to find funding, dependable volunteers and mentors to teach workshops. We would like to add career and cooking essential workshops, which include resume building and smart shopping.

Must-Haves My mace, cell phone, sunglasses and Beanies Chai Tea.
