“Studio C” is bringing back live tapings for Season 9, the sketch comedy show announced on social media Wednesday. The tapings will be held on Friday nights in June and July.
The popular BYUtv show initially recorded its skits in front of a live studio audience when it started in 2012. However, in recent years the TV show has moved away from live recordings in order to increase the quality of the videos.
The live shows will all be filmed at the BYU Broadcasting Building on BYU campus. There are two recording sessions for each of the Friday night live shows — which are on June 8, June 15, June 29, July 13, and July 20 — at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Fans who are subscribed to the “Shoulder Angels” email will have first dibs on claiming cast tickets. People can enter for a chance to win tickets on May 1 at byutv.org/studioclivetapings. The randomly selected winners will be able to bring a total of four people, including themselves.
If fans aren’t able to secure a ticket to the live tapings, then fans are invited to the rehearsals on Thursday nights, the night before the recordings. Admittance will be granted on a ‘stand-by line’ basis. These rehearsal shows are at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on June 7, June 14, June 28, July 12, and July 19.
