Sun or snow — we never know what we’ll get in Utah Valley — here are five weekend events taking place in Utah Valley’s backyard.

Bijou Market

Say bijou to local shopping this weekend. With over 50 local vendors and food trucks, the Bijou Market will have some new handmade item that will tickle your fancy.

When: April 20-21 at 7-9 p.m.
Where: Be More Creative Studios, 261 N University Ave. in Provo

Tulip Festival

Hailing from Holland, beautiful tulips flood the Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point welcoming spring to the valley. This Instagram-worthy experience leaves attendees speechless with 280,000 tulips in many varieties all placed in themed gardens.

When: April 13 – May 5
Where: Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point
Cost: $20 general admission; $15 for children ages 3-12

“Sister Act”

When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a crime, she is placed in the witness protection program in an unlikely place — a convent. The show follows Deloris on her journey to protect her life and save the financially struggling convent. Read more about the SCERA’s production here.

UVU Ballroom Dance in Concert

Put on your dancing shoes and cha-cha on over to UVU’s campus this weekend. Or better yet, kick up your feet and watch UVU ballroom’s dancers spin across the floor. Be dazzled with the blend of athleticism, technique and showmanship.

When: April 20-21 7:30 p.m.
Where: Ragan Theater, UVU
Cost: $15 for adults; $10 for students; $8 for seniors; $5 for children/seniors

Warrior 5K

Be a warrior (and a hero) by running this weekend. The Center for Women and Children in Crisis has partnered with the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault to raise awareness and funds for the nonprofit organizations. Proceeds will go toward fighting sexual abuse in Utah. Besides the 5K race, which starts at 9:30 a.m., there is also a 1-mile fun run for kids starting at 10:30 a.m.

When: April 21 9:30 a.m.
Where: Riverside Park in Provo
Cost: $15 for adults; $5 for children/seniors
