Singers Colbie Caillat and David Archuleta will headline the 2018 BYU Spectacular!, BYU announced on Tuesday afternoon.
BYU Spectacular!, an annual musical showcase during BYU’s homecoming week, offers two performances on Thursday, Oct. 11, and Friday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
Caillat is a Grammy Award-winning and multiplatinum-selling singer and songwriter. Some of her hits include “Bubbly,” “Realize,” “Fallin’ For You” and “Brighter Than The Sun.” She recently released a new album, “The Malibu Session.”
Archuleta, a Utah native, will join Caillat. After breaking into the music industry in season 7 of “American Idol,” Archuleta has released seven albums, won several industry awards, made his TV debut and recorded the title track, “Glorious,” for the 2014 LDS documentary, “Meet the Mormons.” This is his second time headlining BYU Spectacular!
Besides Archuleta, BYU performing groups — Vocal Point, Cougarettes, Living Legends, Young Ambassadors, Jazz Voices, Synthesis and Women’s Chorus — will perform musical numbers during the 90-minute show.
Tickets for the general public go on sale July 16 at BYUtickets.com, with advance ticket sales for BYU alumni and students the week prior. Learn more about BYU Homecoming events at homecoming.byu.edu.
