Bright Future Technically speaking, there’s nothing Connor Mattson can’t do. The new high school graduate is brimming with aspirations and accolades. After winning the Bronze Medal at the SkillsUSA Utah Web Design competition, Mattson was referred to Bright Bridge Web, where he has learned and led with other teens looking to change the world. At BBW, Mattson developed 12 websites for clients worldwide and managed teams of developers. And he did all this while fighting the rigor of five AP classes, being named a Deseret News Wasatch Front Sterling Scholar, traveling to Brazil with the BYU Design and Engineering Research Group, and heading back to SkillsUSA — this time to claim the gold.

Childhood Vision “I always wanted to be an astronaut. My vision to one day explore the stars helped me to not set limits for my opportunities. But once reality gave me a kick, I came back down to earth and decided I wanted to be a surgeon … until I nearly passed out from a blood notation.”

Growing Up “I was cheeky and imaginative. Also, a very picky eater.”

School of Thought “Before high school, I was quite the class clown. Thankfully, during high school, I was able to knock some sense into myself and realize that only passion for my education would reap long-term results.”

Clearing The Mind “Chamomile Tea, talking with friends, and long showers.”

A Visionary Is “Having a solid long-term plan. This involves the education required to keep up with the pace that the technology and business industry moves.”

Out Of Sight! “I swam at presidente figueiredo, a series of waterfalls in the middle of the Amazon rainforest.”

Ultimate Vision Give back the knowledge I’ve received to a new generation of innovators and developers.”
