Clean Sweep Milk. It does the career good. Dallas Hakes grew up on a dairy farm in Texas and helped milk 2,000 cows, three times a day. “That’s where I learned what hard work really is — and I still hold myself to that work ethic,” Hakes says. He’s not kidding. Hakes is an impressive entrepreneur with a variety of ventures. He owns Lonestar Builders, a full-service real estate development and construction firm. And he owns Quick Quack Car Wash, which is rapidly expanding nationwide and becoming a lean, clean, car wash machine. Oh, and did we mention Hakes is the mayor of Mapleton in his spare time? Holy cow!

Childhood Vision “A dairy farmer.”

Growing Up “I enjoyed fixing anything and everything. I also loved sports and water skiiing — anything competitive.”

Clearing The Mind “Family activities with my wife and children. They are my greatest joy.”

Eye On The Prize “I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve been able to foster and create.”

Hindsight Is 20/20 “I should have delegated more — and sooner!”

Mr. Mayor “Twelve years ago, I built my home in Mapleton and immediately felt at home. It was the first time since Stephenville, Texas, that I felt this way about the community I lived in. My appreciation for Mapleton’s unique charm grew into an ever-increasing desire to protect the reasons Mapleton is wonderful. Due to this sincere desire to give back to my community, I threw my hat in the ring for mayor and had a rewarding campaign experience doing so.”

Out Of Sight! “I’ve done over 50 consecutive back flips on a sky ski.”

Ultimate Vision “I will continue to develop and construct my own real estate projects. But truly, I’m in my dream career! I am so grateful for it.”
